College Features:

Teaching

The college trains the students’ professional knowledge and capacity of electrical and computer engineering to enable them to work in the electrical, computer or marine industries after their graduation and contribute to these industries.

Research

In addition to fundamental research in electrical and computer engineering, electrical and computer applications in innovative marine industries, information software, intelligent integrated home care systems, and nanotechnology are regarded as research targets, and research on innovative marine industries, electrical and computer engineering in medicine, and green energy, especially photovoltaics, will be focused.

Integrating Resources and Strengthening Performance

  1. Currently, there are 8 categories of credit programs and 31 cross-department/institute common courses. The college promotes the IEET accreditation of engineering and technology, improves internationalization, has industrial-academic cooperation with enterprises, such as HP and TI, and, meanwhile, provides visionary industrial-academic lectures on electrical and computer engineering to increase students’ knowledge of industries and their employment competitiveness in the future.
  2. Establishing college-level research centers for maritime monitoring systems and technology, electrical and computer engineering in medicine, and photovoltaics. The Research Center for Maritime Monitoring Systems and Technology cooperates with the Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan, the College of Engineering, and the College of Ocean Science and Resource in projects. The Research Center for Electrical and Computer Engineering cooperates with the Chang Gung Medication Foundation to carry out projects. The Research Center for Photovoltaics has industrial-academic cooperation with the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) as well as Unitech Solar.
